An afternoon session and in true Jimmy White form, pre tournament favourite bigbetts couldn't play in the afternoon!!! Overall I must say the standard of play was at its most varied yet. Ranging from the sublime laydown of Coolhands BigSlick 'soooted' sniffing Imac's min raise with bullets in the seat before him. Onto to Courtney's calling with J2 and hitting bottom pair and he was going nowhere. Someone else had hit top pair and was in the process of milking till the river popped a J into the mix. Another poor play witnessed invitee ComedyCarl call with bottom pair and hit trips, much to the berating of the voice of poker bigbetts! After this ComedyCarl was too scared to enter anypot with a substandard hand and exited in 7th place, one place ahead of Courtney. The only purpose both had was to sent someone on tilt and fuming!!!! No more invites for these 2 players please. NRLinco's simmered out in 6th place, I think hes had his one win for the season and lighting doesn't strike twice!!
Betts hit the rail in 5th when his K8 met des's K9 and the money going in after the flop being King high. Kingfish calling, your on a draw Betts!!!! Nope afraid not, i'm on my arse more like!!! At least I managed to last until the Ruby was served, defo my highlight of the day (a naan bread wouldn't of gone amiss).
Onto the top 4 and the grinder who had more mix than usual found his move with KQ running into Murie's bullets a bridge too far, so the nearly man lives upto his name. The dizzy heights of the top 3 were now being offered and points were up for grabs. This is where I witnessed some really good poker, having been the table boss and offering out more 'William's' than a Rossini opera, Muriel found the breaks and the wheels were starting to come off. A massive chip lead swung to the leagues form player in Imac, Kingfish was a mere spectator and by the time he pushed is small stack, Imac hit his 24outer. This was a badbreak for Kingfish although he was happy to have minimum points in the bag. Now it was left to the host and former table captain in Muriel to spoon the last of his chips to Imac. I must say the rail affected Muriel's play and hee'll have to maintain his head at future events if he is to push on. The final hand seeing Muriel's 'Marky Stewart' K 10 running into Imac's Ace rag who instacalled and the ace on the turn taking the bacon, the money, the points, the plaudits and the top of the leaderboard back over the road.... I noticed how his sinnus problem which had kept him out of work had perked up a little in the process... Roll on event 4, so Lloydy can pick up some points and leave me routed at the foot and looking at relegation in the Jeal league of drink.... i mean poker!!!!
